The Lindsey S Wormley Memorial Fund
The Lindsey S Wormley Memorial Fund has been established in memory of Lindsey “Lin” Wormley (1947-2008), a loving husband, father, and brother. This fund honors Lindsey’s commitment to life, love of community, and fostering higher education.
The purpose of this fund is to annually distribute awards to promising and qualified senior high school students to assist with the cost of attending a college or university. The award recipient must demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence, as well as participation in their community.

About Lindsey Wormley
Lindsey was born August 22nd 1947 in New Haven Connecticut to the late Livingston and Elsie Wormley. He was the youngest of 6 children and doted on by his older brother and sisters. Lindsey served in the Connecticut National Guard and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1971. He pursued a long and successful career at IBM retiring after 37 years as a Sales Manager. While residing in Nashua, NH, Lindsey was very involved with the Nashua community. He was an active member of the Main Street Methodist Church where he served on many committees, and the Nashua Youth Soccer league as a coach. Lindsey also was elected to the Nashua Board of Education and during his tenure served as President and Chairman of various committees. Lindsey moved to Atlanta in September 1996 where he became a longtime member of the Atlanta Strokers Golf Club and served as Vice President before being diagnosed with bladder cancer.
On Thursday, September 11, 2008 Lindsey Smith “Lin” Wormley passed away surrounded by his family at the age of 61. He is survived by his wife Linda Douglas Wormley of 35 years. Other survivors include a daughter, Kristin Lynn Wormley and a son, Lindsey Smith "Lin" Wormley III of Marietta, GA, sisters Frances Battle of Temple Hills, MD, Helena Rogers, of New Haven, CT, Violetta Smith (John) of Wallingford, CT, brother Livingston Wormley (Amy) of North Haven, CT, and his favorite sister-in-law Marie Douglas of Somers, NY, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Maitland Caesar.
Recipients: The first recipients will be named September 11, 2013. The 5th anniversary of Lindsey S. Wormley’s Passing.

The Lindsey S Wormley Memorial Fund is a division of CHARITYSMITH: National Society of Memorial Funds, a 501(c)3 public charity dedicated to the creation and governing of memorial endeavors. All donations are tax deductible in accordance with federal tax law. Receipts for tax purposes are sent via US Mail within two weeks of donation.
