Adam Davis Galleher Memorial Fund
He was raised in Valle Crucis, just outside of Boone, North Carolina, moving there from California with his family in 1994. He was a member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church, were he and his siblings served as Acolytes. The church sponsored Troop 160 of the Boy Scouts of America, of which Adam was a proud member. He attended Boy Scout summer camp annually and had the opportunity to participate in a trek at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Boy Scouts was a significant part of Adam's youth.
He graduated from Watauga High School in Boone, North Carolina in 2004. While in High School Adam was a member of the drum line of the marching band for all 4 years, and loved every minute. His sister is also a drummer and they particpated in marching band together for two years.
Adam had a passion for cars. He attended and graduated with an Associates of Arts degree from Wyoming Technical Institute in Laramie, Wyoming in 2006. He learned Auto Body / Collision Repair and Custom Paint and Hot Rod Fabrication. After graduation he worked in the auto field for several years, until love of family and the mountains brought him back to Valle Crucis. Adam always loved tools and working with his hands. He worked the last several years as a carpenter for Michael Galleher Construction. He bought a fixer upper house and was in the middle of a renovation.
Adam also had a special passion for music, well beyond high school marching band. To satisfy his need for music in his everyday life he could pick up any instrument laying around and figure out how to play it. This love led him to becoming a DJ, where he composed and performed around the region with the stage name AdamX.
The mission statement of this memorial fund is to assist deserving individuals with similar goals as Adam and to help them with the financial burden. Our goal is to help one or more annually. His perpetual smile will live on forever. Our intention with this fund is to spread the joy that Adam shared with everyone he met.
